AUSTIN, Texas - Spectrum News 1 today announced its Emmy Award-winning Texas news network, Spectrum News 1, is now available to Xfinity TV customers in the Houston region. As part of the previously announced distribution agreement with Comcast, Xfinity TV customers can find Spectrum News 1 in Houston on channel 1127 of their TV lineup.

Spectrum News' networks feature 24/7 coverage of the day's top locally and nationally relevant stories, breaking news reports, political coverage at the community, state and national levels, real-time traffic reports, and local weather every 10 minutes.
Comprehensive Coverage Across Houston
In addition to its coverage of Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio, El Paso, and the Rio Grande Valley, Spectrum News 1 will now provide local news for Houston with a dedicated multimedia journalist, Houston-native Valencia Jones, reporting from the area with more multimedia journalists to be added.
Along with community-specific reporting, Spectrum News 1 provides state legislative reporting from Capital Reporter Erin Davis, based in Austin, as well as daily coverage of the Texas congressional delegation from Spectrum News Washington D.C. Correspondent Reena Diamante, based in the Spectrum News D.C. Bureau.
On weeknights at 7 p.m. CT, the network airs a half-hour show, "Capital Tonight," hosted by James Barragán, featuring balanced reporting on local, state, and national political news of the day. On Sundays at 9:30 a.m. CT, the network airs a public affairs program, "In Focus Texas," hosted by Karla Leal, featuring half-hour roundtable discussions with local, state, and national political and community leaders and influencers on important kitchen table issues.
