New Multi-Million Dollar CT Scanner Brings Faster, More Precise Care to Evansville

Ascension St. Vincent Evansville has officially unveiled a state-of-the-art, multi-million dollar CT scanning device, bringing a new level of advanced medical imaging directly to patients in the Tri-State.

Housed inside the Center for Advanced Medicine, this cutting-edge equipment ensures that Southern Indiana residents receive safer, faster, more comfortable, and more precise diagnostic care close to home.

The introduction of this advanced technology marks a significant milestone for local healthcare, offering major advancements in the patient experience:

  • Shorter Scan Times: Patients spend significantly less time inside the scanner, greatly reducing anxiety and discomfort.
  • Safer Imaging: The high-tech system requires less contrast dye, making the scanning process gentler on the body.
  • Unmatched Precision: Enhanced image quality allows local physicians to pinpoint microscopic anomalies with incredible accuracy, ensuring patients receive highly tailored treatment plans quickly.
  • Care Close to Home: Tri-State residents no longer need to travel outside the region to access the highest standard of non-invasive diagnostic imaging.

"This machine has been a long time coming for our organization, and we are excited to bring this advanced cardiac technology to our patients," said Amanda Griswold, Ascension St. Vincent Director of Imaging Services. "Not only will it enhance the level of care we can provide, but it will also improve accessibility, allowing more patients in our region to receive these services close to home."

The acquisition of this life-saving technology was made possible by a generous $2.4 million donation from the Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Foundation, reflecting a continued commitment to investing in the health and well-being of the local community.

Heart disease remains a critical health concern, claiming nearly one in five lives in the United States annually. The new scanner will serve as an essential tool in the local fight against cardiac illness.

"This advanced equipment is a vital resource for earlier detection, more precise diagnosis, and enhanced healing for every patient we serve across our region," said Foundation Director Jennifer Whitaker.

With this milestone advancement, Ascension St. Vincent Evansville and its Foundation reinforce their shared dedication to elevating local healthcare, ensuring Tri-State families have immediate access to world-class, life-saving cardiac and diagnostic care right in their own backyard.
