House Republicans Advance Farm Bill, Putting American Agriculture First

WASHINGTON
- House Republicans are advancing H.R. 7567, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026. This bill is led by Chairman Glenn "GT" Thompson (R-Pa.) to secure America's food supply chain, help thwart foreign attempts to purchase American farmland, and keep agriculture growing for the next generation.

House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) and Chairman Thompson released the following statements:

"House Republicans are standing with the farmers and ranchers who feed this country and keep rural America alive," Chairwoman McClain said. "The farmers in my district understand that food security is national security. Today, Congress affirmed that as well. Among other things, we have put in some of the strictest provisions to date in place to stop foreign adversaries, like China, from controlling the land that feeds our people. Republicans are putting America first by making sure the farm families who sustain this country are getting the support they need."

"Championing the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 on behalf of our nation's rural communities has been an honor," Chairman Thompson said. "I am extremely pleased to see this bill pass out of the House of Representatives with bipartisan support. An updated farm bill that meets the current needs of our farmers and ranchers is long overdue, and this is a significant step toward getting farm country back on track. I look forward to seeing Chairman Boozman and the Senate make progress on this critical legislation so we can get the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 sent to President Trump's desk as soon as possible."

The Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 reauthorizes key USDA programs and updates farm policy for the challenges facing producers today. The bill bolsters risk management for food producers, supports rural communities, and addresses foreign investment in U.S. agricultural land.
