BOROUGH PRESIDENT GIBSON ANNOUNCES GREATER MORRIS PARK OPEN CALL FOR PROJECTS FOR THE NYS DEPARTMENT OF STATE'S DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION INITIATIVE (DRI) $20 MILLION GRANT

Bronx, NY- Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson announces the launch of the Greater Morris Park Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) Open Call for Projects. Greater Morris Park has been awarded $20 million through the New York State Downtown Revitalization Initiative to implement catalytic projects that will strengthen the area's commercial corridors and support long-term economic growth.

A Local Planning Committee (LPC), co-chaired by Borough President Gibson and Lisa Sorin, President of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, has been established and is now seeking project proposals from the public to be included in Greater Morris Park's Strategic Investment Plan, which will be submitted to New York State later this year. Now is the time to get involved in the DRI planning process and to submit project proposals that will help improve your community. Visit https://www.gmpdri.com for more information on how you can participate in the GMP DRI and to learn more about submitting a project proposal.

The Call for Projects will be open from June 13, 2025 - August 08, 2025. An Intent to Submit Form, requiring contact information, project name, type, and a brief project description, is due by July 25, 2025, at 5pm. The full Project Proposal Form is due by August 8, 2025, at 5pm.

Office Hours will be held throughout July to answer any questions that project sponsors may have:

· July 9, 10:00am - 11:20am

· July 10, 3:00pm - 4:20pm

· July 15, 2:00pm - 3:20pm

· July 22, 1:00pm - 2:20pm

Project sponsors are encouraged to sign up via the project website (https://www.gmpdri.com) or reach out at [email protected] to request additional meeting times.

It is important to both Borough President Gibson and the State that the GMP DRI process remains inclusive and transparent. We encourage all residents, business owners, and community stakeholders to participate.
