Welcome Brett Mayle, the New Urban Forester

The City of Key West wants to welcome Brett Mayle as Urban Forester..

A native of Western New York, Mayle joins the City with more than 30 years of arboriculture experience and leadership in the residential, commercial and utilities communities. Mayle's expertise and dedication have enabled him throughout his career to successfully fulfill client and community goals while advancing to entrepreneurship in the tree care private sector.

In 2019, Mayle partnered with Lewis Services, ArborMaster and OSU safety researchers to design, develop and deliver a company-wide comprehensive safety and technical training program for more than 4500 workers, in accordance with ANSI best practices and exceeding OSHA compliance mandates. Most recently Mayle has collaborated with Florida energy providers and utility vegetation management companies to incorporate highly reliable organization strategies in workforce initiatives for best practices in storm and disaster response and recovery.

An ISA Certified Arborist and avid outdoorsman, Mayle is passionate about nature and committed to serving the community of Key West through dedication to the health and safety of our trees. He is a family man that believes providing education and building relationships inspires collaboration and trust; it truly does "take a village" to foster the values of personal and community growth.
