Senator Wicker Meets with President-elect Trump’s Secretary of the Army Nominee

WASHINGTON- U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, today met with President-elect Donald J. Trump's nominee to be the 26th Secretary of the Army, Dan Driscoll.

In the meeting, Chairman Wicker and Mr. Driscoll discussed the need to boost recruitment and retention and the Army's critical role in the Pacific.

"It was good to visit with Dan Driscoll, whom President Trump has tasked with keeping our Army lethal and ready. The Army is essential to achieving our strategic objectives in the Indo-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East." Senator Wicker said. "As Secretary of the Army, Mr. Driscoll would bring relevant combat experience, a decorated military career, and a proven track record at the highest levels of law and business to keep the Army focused on its mission. I look forward to leading his confirmation hearing."

Dan Driscoll is a former Army Cavalry officer who served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is a graduate of Yale Law School and has management experience in venture capital and investment banking, and was previously an adviser to Vice President-elect J.D. Vance.
