TCEQ approves fines totaling $1,450,788

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality yesterday approved penalties totaling $1,344,862 against 52 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations.

Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: 12 air quality, two Edwards Aquifer, four industrial wastewater discharges, two multi-media, 19 municipal wastewater discharges, two petroleum storage tanks, and eight public water systems.

Default orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: one petroleum storage tank, one utility, and one without certification.

In addition, on Sept. 8, the executive director approved penalties totaling $105,926 against 36 entities.
