Entry Window Open for TAB Public Service Awards

- Cash Prizes Total $6,000, Deadline: April 24

With $6,000 in cash prizes at stake, Radio and TV stations throughout Texas are readying their entries for TAB's Bonner McLane Public Service Awards. The honors will be presented at the Awards Gala on closing night of the 2026 TAB Show, Aug. 5-6 at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Round Rock.

TAB will recognize three Radio and three TV stations in small, medium and large markets for exemplary contributions and service to their local communities completed in 2025.

Each award includes a $1,000 cash prize, and recipients are afforded time onstage for brief acceptance remarks at the biggest night in Texas broadcasting where TAB presents multiple leadership awards, as well as the Radio and TV Stations of the Year.

Entries are due April 24 and instructions for preparing submissions are HERE.

The awards honor Bonner McLane, TAB's first executive director who passed away in 1987.

Stations honored in 2025 included KLST/KSAN-TV San Angelo, KETK-TV Tyler-Longview, KUVN-TV Dallas-Fort Worth, KMHT Marshall, Bryan Broadcasting, and KERA Dallas-Fort Worth.

Leadership, Stations of the Year Awards
Submissions for Radio or TV Station of the Year and individual leadership awards are due April 17.

Leadership awards include:

• Pioneer of the Year
• Radio and Television Broadcaster of the Year
• George Marti Award for Engineering Excellence
• Jason Hightower Award for Broadcast Excellence (One Radio, One TV)

TAB also will present awards for Lifetime Achievement, Distinguished Service and Associate of the Year.
