Pacific Salmon Essential Fish Habitat 5-Year Review Call for Information

The Pacific Fishery Management Council (PFMC) is seeking information and data to support the review and potential revisions to Pacific Coast Salmon Essential Fish Habitat (EFH). The information can include peer-reviewed literature, unpublished scientific reports, data from government resource agencies, fisheries reports, and other sources of information, including previously unavailable or inaccessible data. The PFMC will consider different types of information according to its scientific rigor.

The Pacific Coast Salmon Fishery Management Plan and EFH provisions can be found on the PFMC website. FMP Appendix A contains the detailed EFH identification and descriptions, maps, rationale, and other background information on salmon EFH. Maps, metadata, and additional information can be found on the National EFH Mapper.

The PFMC is taking information and data submissions for the 5-Year Review until December 3, 2025. Please refer to the PFMC's announcement for comment and data submission instructions.

Eric Chavez, Essential Fish Habitat Coordinator, at (562) 980-4064.
