Subject to AS 38.05.850 and AS 19.40.210 (c), the Northern Regional Land Office is proposing the following actions:

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Division of Mining, Land and Water is proposing to issue up to five winter-only public access easements for snowmachine use within the Dalton Highway corridor to provide motorized access to adjacent federal lands. DMLW proposes to issue the easements at a 60-foot width, with a combined total length of approximately 31.4 miles, with a total area of approximately 228.36 acres, substantially as depicted on the attached maps.

The easement(s), if approved, may differ from that described herein.

REQUESTED TERM: Indefinite

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: November 8, 2026

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
