Public Comment Period Now Open for FY 2026-27 Community Development Block Grant Annual Action Plan

The City of Cathedral City is inviting residents to weigh in on its proposed plan for using federal neighborhood improvement funding in the coming fiscal year.

The FY 2026-27 Draft Annual Action Plan (AAP) is now available for public comment through April 11, 2026. The plan outlines how the City of Cathedral City proposes to use Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds - federal dollars administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) - covering the period from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.

What Is the Annual Action Plan?

Each year, the City of Cathedral City prepares an Annual Action Plan that connects federal CDBG resources to priority community needs. This year's plan is the fifth and final year of the City's 2022-2026 Consolidated Plan - the City's strategic roadmap for addressing housing, infrastructure, and quality-of-life needs in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods.

This year's proposed projects include street rehabilitation along Avenida El Mundo and Avenida El Pueblo between Ramon Road and McCallum Way - two residential corridors in the heart of Cathedral City that stand to benefit directly from this federal investment.
