Explore Vietnam through the Bettendorf Public Library's Global Gathering Event August 27, 2025 - Vietnam may be 8,000 miles away from the Quad Cities, but the community can still explore the vibrant country and culture through the Bettendorf Public Library's Global Gathering event.Throughout September and October 2025, the Library will hold programs and activities, display objects and art, and offer new library items for checkout - all related to Vietnam and its people."This is a great way for the community to explore another country and its culture without leaving home!" said Courtney Mongiat, Librarian. "Not only that, Global Gathering helps us respect and appreciate all that our neighbors with Vietnamese roots bring to the Quad Cities."Global Gathering is a biennial event celebrating the culture, heritage, and traditions of a selected country or region in the world. In the past, the Bettendorf Public Library has featured Ireland, Mexico, and West Africa - to name a few.
