Help Write the Next Chapter: The Next Meeting for the Comprehensive Plan and Recreation & Parks Master Plan Set for October 29

The City of Sandy Springs invites residents, business owners, community organizations, and other stakeholders to participate in public workshop #3 as work continues on the City's next Comprehensive Plan and Recreation & Parks Master Plan.

What: Public Workshop #3

Where: The Conference Center at City Springs, 1 Galambos Way

When: Thursday, Oct. 29

Time: 6 p.m. -8 p.m.

The workshop will begin with a brief presentation, offering attendees an overview of progress to date and a look at the key themes emerging from previous community engagement efforts. Following the presentation, attendees will participate in interactive activities designed to gather input on policy direction and preliminary recommendations.

Feedback collected during the meeting will help shape decisions related to growth and development, transportation, housing, economic development, environmental sustainability, and recreation and parks. City staff and the project consultant team will be available throughout the evening to answer questions, listen to ideas, and discuss how community feedback is influencing the planning process.

The Comprehensive Plan serves as Sandy Springs' primary long-range policy document, guiding decisions related to growth, land use, infrastructure, housing, and economic development over the next 20 years. The Recreation & Parks Master Plan, last updated in 2019, provides a strategic framework for the City's parks, greenspaces, greenways, trails, and recreational programs. While recreation and parks will remain an important component of the Comprehensive Plan, the Recreation & Parks Master Plan will take a more detailed look at the City's existing inventory, assess future needs, and identify opportunities to expand and enhance recreational amenities and services.

The City anticipates adoption of both plans by the Mayor and City Council in June 2027.
