DENVER (Nov. 7, 2025) - Today, the State will submit to its Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payment vendor a request for SNAP participants to receive full payments for November. The vendor will work in the coming hours to get those dollars from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and load payments onto Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards. Should this request go through, more than 600,000 Coloradans who rely on SNAP to help purchase healthy food will begin receiving full payments for the month of November, the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) announced.
"We are moving fast to make sure Coloradans aren't going hungry. My administration and Colorado Department of Human Services will continue working to ensure SNAP food assistance is distributed as soon as possible so every household can stay healthy and nourished," said Governor Jared Polis.
This comes following a series of conflicting updates from the federal government over the last week, creating confusion and uncertainty for states and people who rely on SNAP. Following an order from the U.S. District Court in Rhode Island directing the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) to make available full SNAP food assistance funding, and FNS's statement that it is beginning the process that enables full payment, CDHS will work with its vendor to start loading full payments onto EBT cards immediately. SNAP participants will likely begin to see payments on their EBT cards as early as Saturday, November 8. All SNAP participants can expect their full payments to be available over the next few days. This remains an evolving situation, and new court opinions or guidance from the federal government could still impact access to benefits for the month of November.
"The availability of full funds will be a relief to the thousands of Coloradans who have been waiting for their November food assistance payments. SNAP is an essential program to ensure every individual has access to healthy food, and no family or child should have to go hungry because of a government shutdown," CDHS Executive Director Michelle Barnes said.
