Straight Talk with Sam

The 119th Congress officially began today. It was an honor to be sworn in once again as the Representative for North Missouri. This isn't something I take lightly and the experience of standing on the House floor and swearing to uphold the Constitution is never any less humbling. I count it a privilege and commit that I will do all I can to effectively represent your views and values in Congress over the next two years.

With President Trump soon to be sworn into office, we have much work to do. Our country has been on a perilous course over the last four years. The fact is the Biden Administration has done their very best to weaken our country. We can fix it though.

Closing our open border, enacting crucial tax reform, countering Communist China and passing a Farm Bill are just a few of the major things we need to get done. I think I speak for a lot of folks when I say President Trump can't take office soon enough.

I'm also looking forward to working again this year as the Chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to put together a highway bill that prioritizes road and bridges-real infrastructure that is desperately needed across Missouri. We've worked diligently to improve our infrastructure in Missouri, and I look forward to continuing those efforts.

As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, my tireless fight to get new C-130J aircraft at Rosecrans Air Base in St. Joseph will continue. Our fight to save rural healthcare is more critical than it's ever been, and I plan to pursue meaningful changes that will ensure lifesaving medical care remains in rural America. Finally, I'm not done with the Postal Service. They have a duty to deliver mail to all parts of my district six days per week. I will stay on them until they get it restored.

It's gonna take a lot of work to address these issues and that means working together. While we won't agree on everything, I firmly believe we can buckle down and get things done that will positively impact North Missouri. That's always been my goal, and I look forward to working for you once again!

Sincerely,

Sam Graves
