West Des Moines Police Arrest Stabbing Suspect

West Des Moines Police Information Release

On February 28, 2026, around 7:28 PM, West Des Moines Police responded to a residence in the 6300 block of Center Street on a report of a stabbing. Officers arrived, located an adult victim and provided medical aid until EMS arrived. The patient was transported to hospital for treatment of injuries that do not appear to be life threatening. As part of the investigation, Nathan Norrell (21) was arrested and transported to the Dallas County Jail. He was charged with attempted murder and going armed with intent. The investigation indicates Norrell knew the victim and that this was not a random event. Any person arrested is presumed innocent unless guilt is assessed in a court of law. Our investigation remains open, but nothing suggests any other suspects were involved.
