Concord, NH - Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall, and Derry Police Chief George R. Feole announce that arrests were made today in connection with the investigation into the murder of Gui Lin (age 41), which occurred at 4 Peabody Annex Road in Derry, New Hampshire on May 19, 2025.
As a result of the investigation into the circumstances of Gui Lin's death, arrest warrants were obtained charging Jeffrey Li (age 18) and Marco Junior Marquez Vera (age 20) with Second-Degree Murder in violation of RSA 630:1-b, I(b), in that, while acting in concert with and aided by another, they did recklessly cause the death of Gui Lin under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life by causing Gui Lin to be stabbed with a knife.
In addition, as a result of the investigation into the circumstances leading to Gui Lin's death, Jeffrey Li, Marco Junior Marquez Vera, and Ayaan Nisaar (age 18) have been charged with additional crimes. All three have been charged with Robbery in violation of RSA 636:1, I, in that, while acting in concert with and aided by another, in the course of committing a theft, they did use physical force on Gui Lin and Gui Lin was aware of such force. Li, Vera, and Nisaar have also been charged with Attempted Burglary in violation of RSA 629:1 and RSA 635:1, I, in that, while acting in concert with and aided by others, they traveled to Peabody Annex Road in Derry with the purpose that the crime of burglary be committed, did or omitted to do anything, which, under the circumstances as they believed them to be, was an act or omission constituting a substantial step toward the commission of said crime. Lastly, Li, Vera, and Nisaar were charged with the crime of Conspiracy to Commit Burglary in violation of RSA 629:3 and RSA 635:1, I, in that, with a purpose that the crime of Burglary be committed, they agreed with others to commit or cause the commission of that crime burglary, and one or more overt acts were committed in furtherance of the conspiracy.
Marco Junior Marquez Vera was taken into custody in Madrid, Spain. Jeffrey Li and Ayaan Nisaar were arrested in Queens, New York. Valuable assistance was provided by the NYPD, FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, and the United States Postal Inspection Service. All three defendants are expected to be extradited to New Hampshire and subsequently arraigned at the Tenth Circuit Court, Derry District Division, at times to be determined by the Court.
