DEADLINE NOTICE: Today is the Last Day to File for Office

Oregon Secretary of State Tobias Read is reminding Oregonians that today, March 10, 2026, is the last day to file to run for office in the May 2026 primary election.

"Our democracy is shaped not by a few, but by the many who step forward with purpose and a belief in their communities," said Secretary Read.

"If this is your first time filing for elected office, thank you for answering the call to public service. Today could mark the beginning of your time as a District Attorney, member of the legislature, as our representative in Washington D.C., or any other position as a publicly-elected servant of our state, and I commend you for choosing to lead Oregon forward."

All candidate filings- including the candidate filing form, accompanying fees, or petition signatures- must be received and verified by the appropriate filing officer no later than 5:00 p.m. today, March 10, 2026.

Detailed qualification information and filing requirements are available in the State Candidate Manual and the County, City and District Candidate Manual.

Any candidate with questions may contact the Oregon Secretary of State's Elections Division
