U.S. Hostage and Wrongful Detainee Day Flag Ceremony
Secretary of State Marco Rubio and FBI Deputy Director Christopher Raia will deliver remarks at a flag raising ceremony to observe U.S. Hostage and Wrongful Detainee Day on Monday, March 9, at 9:00 a.m. EDT at the Department of State. The Secretary's remarks will be covered by pooled press in person and streamed live on the Department homepage and Department YouTube Channel.
Following the flag raising ceremony, journalists are invited to attend a panel discussion with former detainees titled Homecomings: Reflections on Return and Recovery in the Dean Acheson Auditorium. The panel will be livestreamed at this link.
