Trump To Hold $1 Million-Per-Plate Fundraiser in Mar-a-Lago After Disastrous State of the Union Arrow

This weekend, Donald Trump is hosting a $1 million-per-plate dinner for his super PAC, MAGA Inc., at Mar-a-Lago. As Trump continues to wine and dine with his wealthy donors and billionaire buddies, working families are struggling to get by in his economy and Americans continue to dip into their savings to pay for basic necessities.

At his State of the Union address, Trump claimed Americans were "winning" and that "the government answers to the people, not the powerful," but, just today, the Department of Labor revealed that wholesale inflation was higher in January than predicted - and nearly 3% higher than January 2025 - and one in four unemployed Americans have been job searching for over half a year.

In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer issued the following statement:

"For over a year, Donald Trump has shown everyday Americans how little he cares about making their lives better as he prefers to spend his time wining and dining the ultra-rich. In his State of the Union, he declared 'the government answers to the people, not the powerful,' yet Trump doles out tax breaks to billionaires like him while working families face skyrocketing prices and surging health care costs. Let's be clear: Trump's agenda is 'Billionaires first, Americans last.'"
