Over 350 local high school students perform with Spirit of Southeastern on 2025 Band Day

The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Department of Music hosted yet another largely attended Band Day on Saturday, September 20, in conjunction with the Savage Storm's football game against Southwestern Oklahoma State.

The Spirit of Southeastern Marching Band welcomed over 250 students from local high schools to go through rehearsals during the day before rousing pre-game, in-game, and halftime performances during the football game.

"It was great to see a number of first-time attendees as well as repeat performers for this year's Band Day," said Dr. Michael Scheuerman, Director of Bands. "Band Day is a wonderful time to familiarize these potential future students to our current band members, faculty, and campus. I know these visiting students had a great time, learned something new, and will consider becoming part of our Southeastern family in the future."

Students came to Band Day from Durant, Antlers, Coalgate, Dickson, Elgin, Eufaula, Healdton, Kingston, Pauls Valley, Plainview, Vian, Wilburton, and Wilson High Schools in Oklahoma, and Bells, Gainesville, Honey Grove, and Tom Bean High Schools in Texas.
