EUMAM MOZ

Since 15 October 2021 EUTM Mozambique trained the Mozambican armed forces and their leadership on operational
preparation, counter-terrorism, compliance with human rights law and international humanitarian law, including the
protection of civilians, and on respect for the rule of law. The strategic review of the EUTM mandate acknowledged its
completion and the successful role it has played over the last two years as regards the training of the Quick Reaction
Forces (QRF) of the Forças Armadas de Defesa de Moçambique (FADM). Both partners decided on a follow-on partner
mission to achieve self-sustainability for the FADM. The EU and Mozambique have a longstanding partnership covering a
wide range of fields, including the security and defence sector. The excellent cooperation and close partnership between
the Republic of Mozambique and the European Union will continue. We can count on Mozambique's full support for
EUMAM's success.

EUMAM Mozambique helps the Quick Reaction Forces (QRF) of the Forças Armadas de Defesa de Moçambique (FADM) to
achieve a sustainable operational cycle in accordance with IHL and IHRL not later than June 2026. This covers the
preparation, deployment and support. In this way a significant contribution to a safe and secure environment for the
people of Cabo Delgado is made.
