On October 18, the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies officially opened its Los Angeles branch.
At the official opening ceremony, remarks were delivered by TUMO founder Sam Simonian, TUMO Director Marie Lou Papazian, Director of the Los Angeles branch Sawyer Hescock, and Los Angeles City Councilmember Adrin Nazarian, whose efforts in previous years were pivotal in securing state-level approval and funding for the establishment of the branch. The event was also attended by Dr. Karen Israyelyan, Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in Los Angeles.
Among the distinguished guests were Luz Rivas, member of the United States House of Representatives (CA-29), Los Angeles City Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martínez, the President of the Los Angeles Unified School District, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of North America, along with numerous representatives from both the Armenian and American communities. At the end of the event attendees were given a guided tour of the state-of-the-art TUMO Center.
