ADVISORY - DAUPHIN COUNTY - Governor Shapiro to Visit Harrisburg Bureau of Fire, Celebrate 40 Percent Increase in Funding for Capital City First Responders

Governor Josh Shapiro will join firefighters, local leaders, and elected officials at the Harrisburg Bureau of Fire's Station #1 to highlight critical investments the 2025-26 budget makes in firefighters in the Commonwealth's capital city.

The Harrisburg Bureau of Fire was the primary fire service agency that responded after the arson attack on the Governor's Residence. Governor Shapiro and his family thanked firefighters and first responders earlier this year, and is returning to celebrate the additional $2 million in annual funding delivered in this new budget, bringing the total state funding to $7 million per year.
