Working with a financial advisor involves paying fees that can be structured in different ways, and understanding those costs is an important part of the relationship. In a CNBC report, Kathryn Berkenpas, CFP®, Managing Director of Corporate Growth at CFP Board, noted that fees based on assets under management can sometimes be harder to spot because they are deducted directly from investment accounts and may "fly under the radar."
