Welcome to the City of Key West, Mercedes Herrada

The City is pleased to welcome Mercedes Herrada to the City of Key West as the Planning Department's Administrative Specialist. Mercedes is a proud Conch with deep roots in the community. With eight years of experience in the construction industry, she later found her niche in pool construction and earned her Pool Contractor License.

An alumna of Florida Keys Community College, now the College of the Florida Keys, Mercedes holds an Associate of Science in Business Administration and several additional certifications.

Mercedes has a strong passion for photography outside of work, inspired by her quinceañera photo session. What began as a hobby with family and friends has evolved into a particular love for newborn photography. When she's not behind the lens, Mercedes can often be found baking desserts or out on the water with her fiancé, Angel, and their adventurous dog, Champion. Boating is one of her favorite ways to relax and recharge, especially with both of them by her side.
