Commissioner Director Sandra Taylor Tours Cumberland County Bayshore with CCIA and USDA Rural Development Leadership

Commissioner Director Sandra Taylor recently joined Jerry Velazquez and Dylan Wulderk of the Cumberland County Improvement Authority (CCIA) for a tour and meeting with USDA Rural Development State Director Richard Stern and Deputy Director Dianna Morrison to discuss opportunities for collaboration and investment in Cumberland County's Bayshore region. The visit provided USDA leadership with an overview of the CCIA's operations, the county's geography, and the unique economic and environmental assets that define the Bayshore community.

Discussions focused on potential federal funding opportunities through USDA and its partners, as well as future events that could connect local stakeholders with available programs and resources. As part of the visit, the group toured Port Norris, visited the historic A.J. Meerwald, and met with local oystermen to highlight the Bayshore's maritime heritage and expanding aquaculture sector.
