MEDIA ADVISORY: State Health Planning Board Confirms Public Hearing for Certificate of Need Application for Closure of Heights University Hospital in Jersey City

WHAT:

The State Health Planning Board will host a public hearing to take public comments concerning the Certificate of Need application for the closure of Heights University Hospital (formerly Christ Hospital) as submitted to the New Jersey Department of Health.

Copies of the application will be available at the Jersey City Public Library - Heights Branch, New Jersey State Library, and at the New Jersey Department of Health at the following link: https://web.doh.nj.gov/apps2/events/displayEvents.aspx?item=7325.

Comments are limited to two minutes per person. Written comments may also be submitted at the hearing, or no later than April 22, 2026, by email to [email protected], with "Heights Public Comment" in the subject line, or by mail to the following address: New Jersey Department of Health, 55 North Willow Street, 6th Floor, P.O. Box 360, Trenton, New Jersey, 08625-0360, Attention: Carrie Camp and/or Michelle Saupe.
