On 5 June 2026, Ambassador Cao Zhongming and his wife, Madam Yang Qing attended the Weaving Splendour, Finding Resonance 2026 China-Singapore Cultural and People-to-People Exchange Forum. Former Singapore Ambassador to China Chin Siat Yoon, Board Director of the China Cultural Centre in Singapore Tan Huay Liang, and renowned Peranakan fashion designer Mr Raymond Wong were among the more than 220 guests from the cultural and arts sectors of China and Singapore.

Ambassador Cao noted in his speech that dialogue among civilizations is essential for enhancing mutual understanding and building consensus. China and Singapore share naturally compatible perspectives on civilization and similar cultural values, making the two countries a vivid example of mutual learning among Asian civilizations. Ambassador Cao also joined distinguished guests in an in-depth discussion on "the intrinsic connections and core values of Asian civilizations", highlighting that Asian civilizations possess a long history, rich diversity and broad regional reach, and that the wisdom of "harmony without uniformity" is especially valuable in the world nowadays.

During the forum, fashion designers from China and Singapore explored the blending of Chinese and Singaporean civilizations through the lens of costume culture. Models presented classic Chinese attire and contemporary Peranakan fashion creations, while a local dance troupe performed a Peranakan-themed dance presentation.
