Face New Challenges and Disrupt Ritual Sites in 12.0.5

Ritual Sites introduce new repeatable instanced content similar to Delves designed for flexible group sizes and allowing one to five players. Each offers escalating challenges in a bid for the heroes of the Alliance and Horde to disrupt the rituals of the naga in Eversong Woods or the Twilight’s Blade cultists in Zul’Aman.

  • Eversong Woods: Daggerspine Point
  • Zul’Aman: Broken Throne

These sites alternate between the two zones. To enter the Ritual site, players will interact with the Curious Obelisk which allows you to choose your difficulty tier and the challenges you will face. 

As you progress through these Ritual Sites, you can choose your level of challenge from Tiers 1 through 5. Players must complete each Tier before unlocking the next. Tiers 3 through 5 will also require you to select 1, 2, or 4 challenges respectively in order to enter.

A new currency called "Field Accolades" is earned in Ritual Sites along with Ritual Spoils which contain Crests, currencies, and rare cosmetic items. Field Accolades and Voidlight Marl can be spent at several new vendors found on the second level of The Bazaar in Silvermoon City. You will also find Lady Darkglen, Rae’ana, Ranger Captain Lilatha, and Kul’amara the Fierce in this location for quest turn-ins or to pick up new quests.

The level of challenge you undertake and how well you succeed will impact the amount of rewards you get. You can also keep track of your Spoils and Deaths throughout the site within the User Interface as you progress through the instance. A performance score is displayed at the end of the encounter showing your total rewards.

  • Spoils: Combined spoils gained from thwarting enemy forces in the Ritual Site.
  • Deaths: The number of times players have been overpowered in a Ritual Site. Your first 2 deaths will not affect your final spoils. Every death after that will reduce the spoils by 5%, up to a maximum of 50%.

Magical Alarm Bells

Disruptions at the site trigger forces to be summoned to the location of the incident. The more disruptive the incident, the greater the force summoned.

Increases Spoils by 13% when selected.

Complete a Tier 4 Ritual Site then speak with Lady Darkglen in Silvermoon City.

Malevolent Boons

Rank 0/1

The enemies in the site are using dark obelisks to empower their forces. Disable these or face them with their malevolent boons.

Increases Spoils by 20% when selected.

Complete a Tier 2 Ritual Site then speak with Lady Darkglen in Silvermoon City.

Tainted Corpses

Rank 0/1

Volatile magic in the site has tainted the enemies. When killed, this taint manifests as a pool of deadly magic.

Increases Spoils by 10% when selected.

Found in a tainted bone pile.

Reinforced

Rank 0/1

Security is heightened. Many additional forces were brought in to protect this site.

Increases Spoils by 15% when selected.

Complete a Tier 2 Ritual Site then speak with Ranger Captain Lilatha in Silvermoon City.

Patrols

Rank 0/1

Powerful patrols have been seen at the site due to suspected looting. It is best to avoid them if possible.

Increases Spoils by 15% when selected.

‘Procure’ unique treasures from Tier 3 Ritual Sites.

Embers

Rank 0/1

The overwhelming power of the ritual is felt throughout the site, embers of power can be found empowering nearby enemies and their leader.

Increases Spoils by 25% when selected.

Find Embers of Power from a Tier 4 Ritual Site.

Each week the tier requirement will be one lower as players learn more about the rituals. This will allow all players to unlock the bonuses in the lower levels over time.

Ranking Up

There are eight ranks of Renown you can earn, providing greater benefits and rewards as you progress.

Ritual Magic – Regeneration Orbs
The first thing you need to know when investigating a Ritual Site is that with so much magic in the air that while in combat Regeneration Orbs will manifest healing you for 15% of your health.

Keep a keen eye, your familiarity with Ritual Sites should allow you to find small treasures around the site.

Ritual Decor
Is it safe to take things home from a Ritual Site… usually. Seek out Rae’ana in Silvermoon City to see what items she has determined are safe for the home.

A couple of rare enemies have been sighted around Ritual Sites. Take care but usually these rare visitors hold useful spoils.

Adapting to the dangers of a Ritual Site you learn to maximize the magic of Regeneration Orbs increasing their healing by 100%.

Our continued work at Ritual Sites has caused more valuables to be abandoned. You will find additional treasures and spoils around Ritual Sites.

The little creatures often fair poorly when they venture into sites steeped in magic. Seek out Sergeant Vornin in Silvermoon City to adopt one of the pets affected by Ritual Sites he is caring for.

Ritual Magic – Orbs Aplenty
As you continue to counter the dark uses of magic in Ritual Sites you draw more of the good to yourself. You have an increased chance of a Regeneration Orb forming after a kill.

In Ritual Sites it is often dangerous to leave dangerous treasures to fall into the wrong hands. Our scouts have noted the locations of large Revered Treasures in Ritual Sites for you to secure.

Dark Obelisk
After many hours of careful study and counter magics Rae’ana has been able to make one of the Dark Obelisks safe for home use.

Scouts have identified additional shrines that will aid you in a Ritual Site.

The denizens of a Ritual Site often overlook the effect their magic has on their mounts. Seek out Seargeant Vornin to see about a new ride. The magic effects so far have proven to be harmless to their riders.

Elite Dangers

Beware! Our scouts have sighted a couple of rare enemies that are extremely dangerous or elite forces. That said, the bigger or at least more challenging they are the… more spoils they will have.
