Broad, Germantown and Erie Intermodal Improvements Named ASCE Philadelphia Project of the Year

Bowman's contribution to the Broad, Germantown and Erie Intermodal Improvements project has been recognized with the ASCE Philadelphia Section's inaugural Project of the Year Award. Representatives from Bowman and the City of Philadelphia accepted the award in recognition of the project's efforts to improve safety, traffic flow and pedestrian accessibility at one of North Philadelphia's busiest transit and transportation hubs.

The project focused on the intersection of Broad Street, Germantown Avenue and Erie Avenue, where pedestrian, vehicle and transit activity converge. The effort evaluated existing operations to address safety concerns, improve connectivity and enhance overall intersection performance.

Bowman provided traffic and transportation engineering and surveying services for the project. The team collected traffic and crash data, conducted field observations and developed operational alternatives with a strong emphasis on pedestrian safety and connectivity.

The award recognizes the successful collaboration between Bowman and the City of Philadelphia to deliver infrastructure improvements that support safer and more efficient movement for pedestrians, transit users and motorists.
