City Council Elects New President and Vice President



NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (January 11, 2025) - The New Brunswick City Council elected a new Council President and Vice President during its reorganization meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

Councilman John Anderson, who has previously served as City Council Vice President, was elected Council President. He has been on the City Council since 2012.

Council Member Manuel J. CastaƱeda, who was elected to the City Council in 2022 and was sworn in on January 2, 2023, was selected as Council Vice President. He previously served on the Planning Board from 2017 to 2022 and was Chair from 2021-2022.
