State Police in Troop G make notable DWI arrests 10/31- 11/7

On October 31, 2024, at about 5:31 p.m., State Police of Saratoga responded to the reports of a disturbance at a home in Malta, NY. Upon arrival, Troopers determined Ashley L. Livingstone, 32, of Ballston Spa, NY, allegedly drove to the location, uninvited and became involved in a verbal argument. Following the investigation, Livingstone was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to SP Saratoga for processing, where she recorded a 0.26% BAC. Further investigation discovered She has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. Livingstone was issued tickets returnable to the Malta Town Court on November 7, 2024, and released.

On November 2, 2024, at about 1:18 p.m., State Police of Granville responded to the reports of an erratic vehicle in the area of State Route 4 in Whitehall, NY. Patrol located a vehicle matching the Caller's description stopped on State Route 4 in Whitehall, NY. The driver was observed asleep in the driver's seat and identified as Jason W. Murphy, 40, of Granville, NY. Murphy was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Glass smoking devices containing drug residue were discovered in Murphy's Vehicle, and he was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Vehicle in the seventh degree. Further investigation discovered that Murphy has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. He was transported to SP Granville, where Murphy refused to provide a sample to determine the drug content of his blood. Murphy was arraigned at the Washington County Centralized Arraignment Part Court, where he was released on his own recognizance.

On November 3, 2024, at 12:31 a.m. State Police of Clifton Park responded to the report of a noise complaint in the area of Eastwood Drive in Halfmoon, NY. During the investigation, Troopers observed a running vehicle parked in the area and interviewed the vehicle's driver, who was identified as Daniel C. Smith, 23, of Saratoga Springs, NY. Following the interview, Smith was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and another Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. He was transported to SP Clifton Park for processing, where he recorded a 0.19% BAC. Smith was issued tickets returnable to the Halfmoon Town Court on November 27, 2024, and released.

On November 3, 2024, at about 9:11 p.m., State Police assigned to the Latham Interstate Patrol responded to the report of a one-car crash off the roadway of I-787 in Albany, NY. The driver was uninjured and identified as Dipesh Patel, 42, of Delmar, NY. Patel was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Latham for processing, where he recorded a 0.20% BAC. Patel was issued tickets returnable to the Albany City Court on December 2, 2024, and released.

On November 3, 2024, at about 11:15 p.m., State Police assigned to the Latham Interstate Patrol stopped a vehicle on I-87 in Colonie, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Jonathan Velez, 35, of Victory Mills, NY. Velez was transported to SP Latham for processing, where he recorded a 0.20% BAC. Velez was issued tickets returnable to the Colonie Town Court on December 2, 2024, and released to a sober third party.
