Moore Regional Hospital Recognized Among NC's Best Hospitals in 2026

PINEHURST, N.C. - FirstHealth of the Carolinas has again earned top honors in statewide hospital rankings for 2026.

Moore Regional Hospital tied for 6th place in Business North Carolina's annual Best Hospitals list, and Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond tied for 7th place on the Patient Picks list, moving up a spot from last year.

"We are honored to be recognized once again among the best hospitals in North Carolina," said Mickey W. Foster, MHA, chief executive officer for FirstHealth of the Carolinas.

"These acknowledgements reflect the extraordinary commitment of our employees, providers and volunteers who work tirelessly to deliver high-quality, compassionate care every day. Our inclusion on these lists underscores the trust our community places in us."

Business North Carolina creates its list by using more than 25 health care metrics, including data from the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The report includes patient satisfaction surveys, infections, readmissions and mortality rates for common procedures.

Other performance data considered in the rankings include Leapfrog safety grades, national performance rankings from U.S. News & World Report, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) overall hospital quality star ratings and distinction awards from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.

Hospitals earning 4- and 5-star ratings from CMS, including Moore Regional with its 4-star designation, were recognized as part of the top honors.

Moore Regional was also designated a Blue Distinction Center for quality care in both cardiac and bariatric services, recognizing the hospital's commitment to delivering high-quality specialty care.
