PANGKALPINANG -- Dusk slowly settled as the management team of PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, led by the Director of Production and Commercial, Ilhamsyah Mahendra, arrived at Al Khoiriyah Orphanage on Friday (February 27, 2026).
The warm glow of the late afternoon blended with the bright smiles of the children, who had been preparing to welcome their special guests since after the Asr prayer, adding to the heartfelt atmosphere of the gathering.
The Director of Production and Commercial of PT TIMAH, Ilhamsyah Mahendra, along with division heads within the Production and Commercial Directorate, visited Al Khoiriyah Orphanage to break the fast together with the children and the orphanage administrators.
The atmosphere felt friendly from the very first step the group took into the orphanage yard. The head of Al Khoiriyah Orphanage, Jumadi, along with the children, welcomed them warmly and graciously.
As the time for iftar approached, prayers were offered together. The sound of "Amin" echoed in unison, filling the room with hope and sincerity. The moment served as a reminder that Ramadan is not merely about refraining from food and drink, but also about strengthening bonds of friendship and sharing happiness.
Jumadi expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the visit. He shared that the children were very enthusiastic about the iftar gathering.
"Alhamdulillah, the children were very excited to welcome and participate in this iftar event. Today they became the hosts welcoming the PT TIMAH team. They had been preparing since after Asr," he said.
Meanwhile, Ilhamsyah Mahendra conveyed his appreciation for the warm reception from the orphanage family. He hoped that the relationship built through this visit would continue in the future.
"Thank you for welcoming us so warmly. May this togetherness bring blessings and may our bond continue to grow," he said.
Ilhamsyah also noted that the tin mining industry is currently facing various challenges and dynamics. Therefore, he asked for prayers from the children so that PT TIMAH may continue to operate smoothly, grow sustainably, and provide the best contributions to the nation, especially for the people of Bangka Belitung.
Not only in Pangkalpinang, but previously the Kundur Area Division of PT TIMAH also carried out Ramadan initiatives by distributing takjil meals to the community in Sawang, Kundur, Karimun Regency. (*)
