City of Killeen Seeks Applicants for Open Board and Commission Seats

KILLEEN, Texas (July 28, 2025) - The City of Killeen is inviting residents to apply for several vacant positions on various boards, committees, and commissions. This is a great opportunity for community members interested in participating in local government and making a difference.

The following seats are currently open:

• Animal Advisory Committee: Three vacancies. Members of this board meet quarterly on the second Thursday at noon. There are eight members total who shall serve two-year terms.
• Board of Adjustment - Fire Prevention Code: Four vacancies. Members of this board meet as needed. There are six members total who shall serve two-year terms.
• Capital Improvement Advisory Committee: One vacancy. Members of this committee meet biannually. There are nine members total who shall serve two-year terms.
• Killeen Sister Cities: One vacancy. Members for this board meet as needed. There are nine members total who shall serve two-year terms.
• Parks and Recreation Advisory Board: One vacancy. Members for this board meet a minimum of four times each year. There are seven members total who shall serve two-year terms.
