City Crews Stop Wastewater Sewer Line Overflow May 9

Published on May 09, 2025

The Wastewater Division of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) stopped a wastewater overflow about noon Friday, May 9, near North Cotner Boulevard and Vine Street. An obstruction caused wastewater to back up in the sanitary sewer collection system, which allowed wastewater to discharge from a manhole and leak into a portion of Dead Mans Run.

City crews immediately addressed the affected area. Normal wastewater flow operations have resumed.

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department was informed about the leak.
