In anticipation of dangerously cold temperatures expected to make their way through Eastern Iowa this weekend, the Linn County Emergency Management Agency has provided the names and locations of places in Linn County that are designated as warming centers.
Warming centers are facilities where people can go temporarily during periods of extreme temperatures to get out of dangerous weather conditions. Few and limited services are provided beyond what is normally available in that location. The facilities are designated as warming centers during their normal operational hours. Please check hours by calling ahead or checking the facility's website or social media page.

A winter weather shelter is also available for people in need of temporary overnight shelter during cold weather months when traditional homeless shelters are full.
