The European Commission issued its preliminary positive assessment of the ninth payment request under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) submitted by Portugal on 18 May, indicating compliance with the 51 targets and milestones submitted.
This assessment allows payment of 2.3 billion euros, which elevates the sum already received by the country to 79% of the RRF's total allocation for Portugal, which is 22.2 billion euros, of which 16.3 billion are grants and 5.9 billion are loans.
The preliminary positive assessment also shows the continuity of the pace of reforms and investments in three fundamental dimensions: resilience, green transition, and digital transition, with a positive impact on the economic fabric, Public Administration, and citizens.
The Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion notes that "the RRF is yielding concrete outcomes, contributing to a more competitive, sustainable economy that is better prepared for the future".
Following approval of this payment request, only the tenth and last request will remain pending.
