MEMA Alert: Special Weather Statement For Moloka?i Through 7:30 PM HST

MEMA Alert...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT MOLOKAI IN MAUI COUNTY THROUGH 730 PM HST...


At 632 PM HST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 16 miles south of Hawaii Kai to 25 miles south of Manoa to 32 miles south of Honolulu. Movement was northeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Hoolehua, Maunaloa, Kualapuu, Kepuhi, Kalaupapa National Park, and
Molokai Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
