Penn State Altoona to host staged reading of ‘Human Resources’ Oct. 2

"Human Resources: A Staged Reading" will be performed on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. The reading features poems by Professor of English Erin Murphy.

ALTOONA, Pa. - "Human Resources: A Staged Reading" will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, in the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts at Penn State Altoona.

"Human Resources" is a collection of documentary poetry by Erin Murphy, professor of English at Penn State Altoona. Directed by Jonathan O'Harrow, director of Strategic Communications at the college, the staged reading will feature performances of selections from the book. Performers including Penn State Altoona students Nia Hubbard, Emma Moniz, Jay Schmidt, Mark Anderson and Layna Henry; Penn State Altoona faculty and staff Harriett Gaston, KT Huckabee, Ron Darbeau, Tom Liszka, Jeff Stoyanoff and Diana Forry; and community members Sherry Dilling and Donna Gority.

The poems in "Human Resources" focus on global, national and historical labor matters, voiced by factory and migrant farm workers, fast food employees, rescue personnel and others.
