State Route 24 (Sr-24) Caldecott Tunnel Overnight Closures Bores 1, 2, and 3

Nightly Monday, July 27, 2026, through Wednesday, July 29, 2026 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Alameda And Contra Costa Counties - Caltrans has scheduled overnight closures of Bores 1, 2 and 3 of the Caldecott Tunnel on State Route 24 (SR-24) for tunnel lights maintenance, Cross passage door repairs and drainage cleaning. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

Closure Schedule of SR-24 10PM to 4:30 AM:

Bores #1 Closure EB SR-24

  • Monday, July 27, 2026

Bore #2 Closure EB SR-24

  • Tuesday, July 28, 2026

Bore #3 Closure WB SR-24

  • Wednesday, July 29, 2026

During the work, at least one bore in each direction will remain open.

Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
