NQS 4x4

At the centre of the display will be two stalwarts of countless emergency service and remote disaster response fleets, an N Series 4x4 truck. For AFAC 2026, Isuzu is showcasing the all-new NQS 80-175 4x4, in both crew and single cab form.

Rated at 8,000 kg GVM, the NQS is powered by Isuzu's four-cylinder 4JZ1-TCH engine, producing 129 kW at 2,680 rpm and 460 Nm from 1,500 to 2,680 rpm.

In the NQS the 4JZ1 is mated to the impressive Isuzu nine-speed MYR-9R dual-clutch transmission, offering fully automatic and clutchless manual operation - a boon for volunteer fleets with a diverse driving pool.

The NQS part-time four-wheel drive system combines direct High range with a 2.14:1 Low range, providing surefooted momentum for the difficult terrain often faced by Australian fire and rescue crews.

The crew cab provides seating for up to seven crew, including a four-person rear bench, while the single cab offers a lighter tare weight for applications with greater payload demands.

Both units share a 3,395 mm wheelbase and a 14-metre kerb-to-kerb turning circle, supporting manoeuvrability in regional towns, tight access points on off-road tracks and field environments.
