American Battle Monuments Commission to commemorate Veterans Day at 20 of its sites

The American Battle Monuments Commissionwill host Veterans Day ceremonies at 20 of its sites throughout the world Nov. 9-11, inviting the American and local public to join in honoring U.S. service members throughout the nation's history.

ABMC Chairman, retired U.S. Army Gen. Michael X. Garrett, Commissioner Christopher LaCivita and Commissioner Brooks D. Tucker will attend ceremonies Nov. 11 at Aisne-Marne American Cemeteryand Belleau Wood. Commissioner John Freeman and Commissioner Kelly J. Roberts will attend events Nov. 11 at the East Coast Memorialand the West Coast Memorial, respectively. ABMC will also welcome its U.S. partners and supporters as well as the local authorities and community to its ceremonies.

These solemn observances will include wreath laying and the presence of U.S. and local representatives. The ceremonies are open to the public.

More than 200,000 service men and women are buried or memorialized at ABMC sites. Their service is honored at ABMC's monuments and memorials worldwide.
