NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - A woman is dead, and her husband is badly hurt after police say a drunk driver crashed into them.

It happened earlier this month in Antioch. Their heartbroken family is pleading with people to stay sober behind the wheel.

"They were always happy and smiling and dancing," Raquel's brother, David Sarabia, said.

The pair was driving down Bell Road at 3:30 a.m., and a person behind the wheel of a Maserati hit them head-on.

Raquel died, and Marco is in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

"I cannot describe this," Sarabia said. "It is the worst pain you could ever feel."

Metro police said the alleged intoxicated driver is Julio Ceaser Herrera Gonzales.

He's charged with vehicular homicide, DUI and driving without a license.

Marco's sister, Melissa Baez, is at the hospital by her brother's side.

Troopers said situations like this one are why they launch a Booze It or Lose It campaign each year near Labor Day.

The family said Marco has serious brain trauma and dozens of fractures.

Medical bills are adding up, so they've set up a GoFundMe .
