Eaton to debut single-pole Breaktor circuit protection technology at ACT Expo

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- Intelligent power management company Eaton today announced its Mobility Group is expanding its Breaktor® high-voltage circuit protection portfolio with a new single-pole variant, alongside 24-volt control options, an upgraded functional safety classification and a 35-kiloamp short-circuit interruption capability for its dual-pole lineup. The technologies will be showcased at ACT Expo, May 4-7, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Booth #2500.

The expansion gives engineers greater flexibility in designing and protecting next-generation electric vehicle systems. This allows them to tailor safety strategies, redundancy and packaging based on vehicle requirements.

The single-pole Breaktor enables separation of battery poles and integration with components such as latching relays or pyrotechnic disconnects on the negative line. Its low-resistance design minimizes power loss, improving efficiency and supporting faster charging.
