Fall SBU Art Crawl Features Creative Works Across Campus on October 7

Noel W Anderson's, 'But Where?' is among the many works of art that can be seen on the Fall SBU Art Crawl on October 7.

The Fall SBU Art Crawl will highlight works of art across the Stony Brook University campus on Wednesday, October 7, from 12:30 pm to 3 pm.

The Art Crawl is free and open to the public, with stops at five locations:

Simons Center Gallery, 12:30 pm
Simons Center for Geometry and Physics, Level 1
 The Altgeld Math Models
Features 12 selected mathematical models from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's historic collection of nearly 400 models from Altgeld Hall. Curated by SCGP Art Director Lorraine Walsh in collaboration with the Deptartment of Mathematics and the University Library at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Melville Library, 1 pm
Lawrence Alloway Memorial Gallery, Level 1
 MFA Exhibition by Madeline Yacovone
 Yacovone is a third year Master of Fine Arts student whose exhibit, "Take, eat." was her first solo exhibition, exploring the boundaries of gender and religion.

Zuccaire Gallery, 1:30 pm
Staller Center for the Arts, Level 1
 Noel W Anderson: Black Excellence
Featuring large-scale tapestries, video and works on paper, this exhibit explores themes of Black success, labor and performance by renowned artist Noel W Anderson. Zuccaire's expansive gallery will create an arena-like space for the exhibition to unfold, offering vantage points to experience his work from above and below.

Skylight Gallery, 2 pm
Charles B. Wang Center,
 Walking the World: Gareth Fuller's Art of Place
This exhibition presents the work of Fuller, a British artist whose intricate maps offer a striking counterpoint to an age shaped by artificial intelligence, digital navigation and automated image-making. Fuller has spent decades traversing the globe, translating his experiences into intricate, hand-drawn "maps of the mind."

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), 2:30 pm
Social and Behavioral Sciences Building (SBS)
OLLI Art Exhibition
New to the SBU Art Crawl is the OLLI Art Exhibition, featuring artwork in various mediums from OLLI members. OLLI is a lifelong learning program designed for retired and semi-retired adults ages 50+ who wish to be part of a community of curious individuals who share a passion for learning. OLLI artists will be on-hand at the exhibition to discuss their artwork with visitors and answer questions. Includes a reception with light refreshments.
