Trevecca is helping expand support for educators across the state through a new professional development opportunity that's offered to teachers at no cost.
In partnership with the Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging, the Academic and Behavioral Learning Certificate (ABLC) program equips teachers with practical, research-based and trauma-informed strategies to better support students with disabilities in inclusive classroom settings.
Designed specifically for working educators, the online program is organized into grade-level tracks (PreK-2, 3-6 and 7-12) allowing educators to tailor their focus over the course of 12 weeks and 90 professional development hours.
Coursework includes instruction in effective strategies for students with mild to moderate disabilities, data-driven interventions, assistive technology and positive behavioral supports. Teachers will also explore ways to collaborate more effectively with special education professionals and families.
The program is open to licensed Tennessee teachers currently working in public or private schools who are committed to meeting program requirements.
By investing in current and future educators, Trevecca continues its mission to equip servant leaders who make a meaningful impact in communities and classrooms where inclusive, student-centered learning is more important than ever.
