DEVELOPMENT NEEDS FOR MULTI-ETHNIC COMMUNITIES...

The Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry, Hon. Charan Jeath Singh, addressed the ongoing development needs of the multi-ethnic communities in Taveuni.

During his visit and consultation meeting with the communities from Dala and Waimaqera settlements, Minister Singh highlighted the government's commitment to addressing the development needs of minority ethnic communities in Fiji.

He stated that the Ministry's pivotal role in promoting equity and inclusion across various ethnic communities, Melanesians, Indo-Fijians, Chinese, Rabians and other ethnic minorities.

According to Minister Singh, over the years, the minority groups found difficulty in accessing government services and have been neglected in some cases.

"For that reason, the coalition government established the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs to look after the affairs and development needs, represent all other ethnic communities, and ensure we all progress together as a nation," he said.

"That shows the level of commitment the coalition government has to ensure that no communities are left behind and ensure we all progress together as a nation," he added.

Minister Singh will also visit and meet different ethnic communities in Savusavu, Dreketi, Wainikoro, and Labasa.
