Van Buren County Sheriff News Release - Drowning victim recovered.

Narrative:

Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that on April 3rd, Van Buren County Dispatch received a call reference a male who had gone underneath the water of the Paw Paw River in the Village of Lawrence. Upon arriving on scene, responders requested that the Sheriff's Office Dive Team respond to assist. Members of the dive team arrived on scene and began to conduct a search for the victim, who was identified as a 48 year old male from Illinois. After approximately an hour of searching, a member of the dive team was able to locate the victim in the Paw Paw River. He was pronounced deceased on scene. The scene and investigation were turned over to the Lawrence Police Department for further investigation.
